Stand-in skipper Fernando Torres scored for Spain against Chile on Wednesday night.
The Liverpool hitman came off the bench and helped his country to a 3-0 friendly win at home to Chile.
Torres dummied the Chile defender and slotted home with his left-foot in a trademark ‘Torres goal’.
“I’ve returned to scoring after that goal in the final and I’m very happy,” said Torres.
“As well as that, it has been an honour to have served as captain for the second time with Spain. This means that although I’m still very young, I’ve already been involved here for a long time.
He added: “It’s a nice time for the Spain team because the team are playing very well and winning, and you need to enjoy it while it lasts. It makes you proud to play in this team.
“We have ended the year very happy with what we have achieved.”
