Torres is loving it

Spanish hitman and Anfield striker Fernando Torres has said he is delighted after Spain went through to the Euro 2008 semi-final’s after a penalty shoot-out victory over World Champions Italy.

“I’m enjoying this victory!” said the striker.

Although he was substituted on 85 minutes, he was happy with what he had done.

“I think we all must look back at the harder moments to realise how important this is.  This is the most beautiful time I’ve ever experienced with the Spanish team.” he added,

“I’d have liked to have taken a spot-kick because I always want to support the team, Russia? They’ve proven to be a high level side and they will compete.” he told Marca.

Else where, Netherlands were knocked out of Euro 2008 after failing to beat Russia. The dream ended for Liverpool’s striker Dirk Kuyt, who was substituted on 46 minutes.
