Reds winger ruled out of Lyon clash

Rafa Benitez has a fresh injury worry after Albert Riera suffered a hamstring problem during training over the weekend.

The Spanish winger will undergo a scan in the next 24 hours to determine the extent of the injury.

Riera, who joined Liverpool last summer, was an unused substitute against Sunderland and has been ruled out of tonight’s Champions League clash with Lyon.

If the scan reveals that the damage is just a pull, Riera could have a chance of featuring against Manchester United on the weekend.

However, if the scan shows a tear, the 27-year-old could be out for a period for up to 1 month.
