Reds not willing to pay much for Riera

According to Marca, Liverpool will not offer anything more than €12.7m to Espanyol for Spanish winger Albert Riera.

Riera had been linked with Liverpool all summer but speculation cooled when Espanyol set an asking price of £16 million for the winger.

Liverpool claimed that the Spanish club should lower their asking price and only then would they look at submitting a bid of €12.7m.

Riera had said that he would like to join Liverpool back in June but contradicted himself by saying he wanted to stay in Spain.

Espanyol are keen on the winger and Liverpool would have to come up with a good sum of money if they hope to lure the 26-year old to Merseyside.
