Rafa Benitez is confident Liverpool can put up a fight against Sunderland without star duo Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres.
Both Gerrard and Torres have failed to recover from injuries they sustained while on international duty for their countries.
Benitez confirmed earlier in the day that the pair have been ruled out of the clash however, Greek defender Sotiros Kyrgiakos’ injury isn’t as bad as feared.
“We knew there could be a problem with Steven and Torres, so we are trying to manage with the players we have,” Benitez said.
“We have our ideas and we will see if we can manage tomorrow.
“Stevie is the captain, a leader and a player with quality who can always score goals. Clearly we will have to change something, but that is the situation and we will have to adapt.”
