Rafa Benitez was delighted with Yossi Benayoun after a 4-0 win over Burnley and admitted they are not thinking about the title, but are taking each game as it comes.
Although Benayoun walked away with the match ball, Benitez believes Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva was key to the 4-0 victory.
“Lucas supported and managed in the middle and kept everyone else going forward,” said the Spaniard.
“For me he was the key player today. We can talk about Yossi but it was thanks to Lucas. One thing everyone told me when I came here was that if you work hard the fans are with you.
“They could see again today that Lucas is a worker who has quality. He can challenge in the air, tackle and pass the ball.
“He worked so hard in different positions and allowed the other players more freedom. For me he was a very important player for us today.”

very good Benayoun!and Lucas,we are with you!
Force Liverpool! You”ll never walk alone!
Benayoun proved his point and benitez would wanna start him in every game. But didn’t really agree with the lucas part. I think Lucas did not play an important role much. this is just a manager’s way of putting confidence in a player for the next game to get a better performance . Good win! YNWA
Its true Lucas was amazing good on u rafa 4 keeping faith with dis lad he a great player and only still 22,he will b better than rat alonso, drop mascarano more and play Gerrard in center and yossi behind torres it was great today its the way forward 4 us.
Benayoun was fantastic. He should play every game. If only more players were like him than Riera and Babel. They should do their talking on the pitch.
Lucas is improving but he needs to have more confidence to play more forward passes and to control the game instead of just breaking up play.
And shame on you for insulting Xabi. He had been fantastic for us. If he wanted to lower his price and go he could have just stated it in public, yet he kept quiet so we could get a better transfer fee.
I hope everyone stops bashing lucas, he has been very good this season & last season! Well done Yossi aswell.
Thank god for that… I came away from the game on Saturday thinking how good Lucas had played. He was winning challenges and headers all over the park. He was strong – he seemed to be everywhere. But the media ignored his performance. I became paranoid that I didn’t know what I was talking about… and then the gaffa backs me up… damn right Rafa, Lucas was excellent. But to all you idiots out there including those on Talk Sport who have been slagging him off – do one! He’s been tarnished with a brush from a few performances early last season. That’s ridiculous. Get off the bandwagon Anfield and get behind him!
