Liverpool will offer winger Jermaine Pennant a one-year extension to his contract.
The Reds will offer the out-of-favour winger a deal in a desperate attempt to stop him leaving on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Pennant has attracted interest from several clubs around Europe, including AC Milan, Celtic and Real Madrid.
Pennant has hardly featured for the Reds this season after rows with manager Rafael benitez.
Liverpool are looking to recoup some of the £6million they paid to Birmingham City for Pennant when Benitez joined the Reds.
Pennant rejected a move to Stoke City for £4million in the summer and wants to play for a club which is in the Champions League.
