Owners spoil new takeover talks
A Kuwaiti investment group has revealed negotiations to buy Liverpool are ‘going really badly’ because current co-owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks are asking for too much money.
The American pair want in excess of £500million while the Kuwaiti millionaires are only ready to pay up to £450million.
The Kuwait-based consortium claims the talks have ‘almost collapsed’ due to to the demands of Hicks and Gillett.
Abdulla Al-Sager, one of the possible investors, said: “Things are going really badly, because they are asking for too much.
“I don’t think anything will happen unless we get a better price.”
Liverpool are also reportedly in talks with another investment group in the Middle East and one in the United States.
Hicks would ideally like to find a partner to replace Gillett as he would like to remain in control of the Premier League outfit.

From the 1st day they took over LFC, it has always been how to milk us dry. To them we are just another franchise, another team and nothing else. Profits are important in biz, but the really have done us more harm than good.
I don’t really think anyone will pay what they ask for with the current financial gloom. It’ll be even gloomier for us.

Gillet out, sharpish, the yanks must have faith in rafa given that they’ve got rid of parry, but we must have loyakl and faithful owners that want success on the pitch first and foremoast, this means giving rafa the chance to buy who he wants when he wants, and not letting the admin fee for parry get in the way, this has been resolved now and hopefully a new co-owner will help move things forward!

I feel that this Kuwait investment comes with business purpose just like the Yanks. I’d prefer D.I.C. to Kuwait, but unfortunately if they really stop their interest (which I hope not) I’d love to see Tom solely control over the club. Personally, I am convinced that he really works for the club, trys to provide as much support as possible to Rafa. Even his purpose is trying to make profit from our club, but he’s doing it straight forward. Unlike you, George, you’re undergroung worm who stirs our club. Klinsman’s a big example. We’ve known this for wel over 12months now that the yanks are asking too much, the DIC were willing to pay £450m around Christmas time last season but the yanks wanted between £500m – £550m, I believe they’ll end up being forced to sell with the current economic climate and it’ll come to a time when they have to accept the price being offered, lets hope that day is soon and it’s to new owners who have the money to invest to the standards we need both in the team on the pitch and off it with the new stadium and we can put the manc scum back in their rightful place looking up at the best in the world
