Nemeth joins AEK Athens on loan
Liverpool youngster Krisztián Németh has joined Greek club AEK Athens on a year-long loan deal.
AEK Athens chairman Nikos Thanopoulos was in Liverpool today and met Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez.
Greek international Sotirios Kyrgiakos made the move to Anfield from AEK yesterday and Nemeth will join the Greek side as a part of an agreement.
Thanopoulos wanted to sign Reds winger Nabil El Zhar however, Benitez wasn’t keen on letting go of the Moroccan after insisting he was part of his plans this season.
Nemeth is in search of first-team football, something which Benitez isn’t ready to offer yet, and decided a move to AEK was ideal for him.
The loan deal will see the Hungarian at AEK for a year with an option to extend the loan deal for another 6 months.

fine, he’s got nice play during pre-season n reserve, but there is still certain level difference between epl n reserve team play which the training staff (inc. rafa) understand more in terms of physical level, etc that they can get from his training n match data..
i still recall the time when some said el zhar n n’gog will be good n want them to play for first team n now, what some said, they’re craps n pacheco n nemeth should start instead.. wait until they started n there will AGAIN some that will say they’re craps n ABCD n EFGH from reserve team that should start instead..
c’mon, we’re not arsenals, rafa’s not the professor, that want to gamble on young boys..
fine, fowler, owen, carra, gerrard are all from the youth teams, but they are recruited from early 90′s when king kenny n his staffs still around n our youth squad r one of, if not, the best on england, when rafa come, our youth squad r not that strong anymore.. now at least we can start to see little bit of young talents coming on, wait couple more years, n you will see what i mean, rafa start as youth trainer in madrid after all… n another proof, most of valencia players now r scouted by rafa scout system, inc. silva
