Nemeth guides Hungary to win

July 15, 2008

Krisztian Nemeth was on target for Hungary as he guided them to a 1-0 victory against Bulgaria in the UEFA Under-19 European Championships.

The reserves superstar scored on the 10th minute mark when he caught hold of a long ball and shot past the reach of Ivan Karadjov and into the back of the net.

If you include the qualifiers, Nemeth has scored six goals so far, which makes him the joint top scorer. Fellow Liverpool player Andras Simon replaced him in the 88th minute, Liverpool keeper Peter Gulacsi was brilliant in goal.

Mikel San Jose also played the full 90 minutes for Spain against Germany, but lost 2-1 in their opening game.

On Thursday, Spain will play Hungary in their next match and he will line up against Nemeth.
