Midfielder set for Anfield move?
August 18, 2008
The Reds have been linked with highly-rated Wigan midfielder Wilson Palacios yet again.
The Honduran international has been improving day-by-day at Premiership rivals Wigan Athletic. A £6million offer by Rafa Benitez is likely to be made if they don’t manage to get their number one target, Gareth Barry.
Palacios played a part in Wigan’s opening game this weekend. Although he was outstanding for the Lactics, West Ham managed to edge the game.
Steve Bruce, the Wigan manager, also admitted that it would be tough for him to keep the 24-year-old midfielder at the JJB.
He said: “The window can’t close soon enough as far as I am concerned because, if he carries on playing like that, it won’t be long before a lot of clubs are after him.”
“He’s a top, top player and we could struggle to hold on to him.” he concluded.
