Mascherano to leave in Eto’o swap deal

According to The Mirror, Samuel Eto’o has been offered to Liverpool by Spanish club Barcelona in a swap deal for Javier Mascherano.
Eto’o, 28, has failed to agree a new deal at Barcelona and manager Pep Guardiola is set to offload the striker.
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez insisted earlier in the week that Argentine captain Mascherano is not for sale “at any price” however, The Mirror believe Barca are set to test his statement.
Barcelona are aware that Liverpool have only one main striker in Fernando Torres and believe the swap deal with Eto’o will be accepted within the next few weeks.
Mascherano’s agent, Walter Tamer, also spoke this week about his client’s ‘dream’ of playing for the Champions League winners.

i think if this was to happen i would only be open to rafa takin eto’o plus either yaya toure to replace mashcerano in midfield or money to buy a quality holding midfielder also in the offer. I think it is very possible for rafa to nrgotiate and get yaya toure along with eto’o in the deal cuz if mascherano goes to barca then both toure and keita will be benched. I would love to see eto’o here cuz he and torres with gerrard would score more than enough goals

eto’s contract ll be run out in 1 yr. so this deal is not going to be worth. we should not lose masch as he is the one who can make a differnce in midfield when we are playing with big team. we should not change our midfield balnce in the next season, as our midfield considered strongest in the league so it is too risk to adjust for the time being.

i hope mascherano leaves, although hes a fantastic player i think he is selfish and stupid at times and if he says things like its his dream to play for another club and does not declare that he wants to stay here he i dont even want him here.
alonso is way better and we can get someone else like ignacio camacho or miguel veloso,
if its like 30 million and eto and i would give it heavy consideration.
Rafa made a bid for him when he first took over Lfc, Eto refused the offer. We dont swap young player for old ones.
it stupid to swap any player who is 24 with someone else who is 28. samuel eto probably had his best season last season. what makes you think he’ll be good with us? we should get someone whose already well established in the prem. Tevez is the answer. and mascherano is a class act for this club. i’d say he is in the region of 32 mil. he’s the best defensive midfieler in the world. i dare barca to try harder….if they have the balls to.
To the guy who posted Aguero won’t come. Aguero stated that he would only leave Athletico for Liverpool or Inter. So the only problem is if we can get a viable financial agreement.
Now to the Eto’o and Mascherano swap. Although I don’t wanna see Mascherano leave, this deal would be good but only if we get Yaya Toure aswell or at least 15 million on top of Eto’o. Eto’o is a driven player like Steven Gerrard. Players like him are hard to come by. Personally I wanna see Aguero come because he is of similar mould to Eto’o but alot younger. And the Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso combination in midfield is the best. Plus Rafa wants 4-4-2, so we need a quality striker to play with Torres. I can see Sunny from Valencia as a replacement for Mascherano
