Mascherano still absent from Melwood

Rafa Benitez has revealed Javier Mascherano hasn’t reported back from international duty due to a knock he took while playing for Argentina.

The Liverpool midfielder suffered a pelvic injury and missed the Reds’ 4-0 win over Burnley on Saturday.

Benitez said: “He has still not returned. He picked up an injury and it was decided that he needed to have tests.

“Our doctor was in contact with the Argentina medical team and it was decided it was best that he stay there for the tests, and he will be back in England next week before the Champions League game.

“The problem was a minor one, but we needed to have the checks made straight away.”

   i hope you go to barcelona for like… hmm… 30 – 40 million after playing a very good season with us. since u leaving to another, lesser club, like xabi and arbeloa did is, is inevitable
