Liverpool to sign Atletico winger Rodriguez

Friday, 1st January 2010 · Share on Facebook

Rafa Benitez has completed the signing of long-term target Maxi Rodriguez, according to several sources and well respected blog Well Red.

According to sources, the deal was being discussed in 2008 – when we first reported the transfer – however, the winger will now join Liverpool on a short-term deal with a view to a permanent transfer.

Rodriguez is currently out of favour at Atletico and out of contract in the summer and would not command a fee if Liverpool look to buy him in the summer.

Rodriguez has scored 30 goals in 107 appearances for Atletico and believes first-team football at Liverpool can enhance his chances of making Argentina’s World Cup squad.

Rodriguez has already scored against Liverpool, last season, when he finished well past Pepe Reina in the Champions League.

Andrea Dossena is also being linked with a move to Atletico Madrid so the deal may include the Italian going the other way.

now this is more like it, better quality of player.

Maxi links up with his mate javier, he knows torres very from when torres played with him in madrid. This guy is a clever player somthing different from a benayoun, and different from kuyt, he is not a lennon type winger but he is a clever in that he finds space, he crosses very well and is a worker too.

As he is looking for world cup football with agrentina, he will be hungry, there are spanish and argentine players at the club, he has european football knowledge and for me on a lona deal with his wages not being over to the top its a win win situation, because yet again our owners have just bagged huge money but refuse to invest into the club, so what choice does rafa have.

Rafa has to look at loan deals, and this is a loan deal as good as you can get in any market, so well done rafa is this ends up going through.

Like to think we could get a frontman too,  but get out voronin, degen, dossena, and yet again rafa will have made us money and not spent money,  and i bet even this will get bad press for this, bet even some thick liverpool fans will have ago when you can clearly see the manager has fuck all to work with,
    NEW YEAR LIVERPOOL (IF FIT)

                                                          torres           gerrard

     benayoun                    mascherano     aquilani            rodriguez

    insua                                      agger           carragher      kelly

                                                                         reina.

subs/ others; kuyt, reira, babel, ngog, lucus, skrtel. cavalerli gk. etc

forlan will not be coming, atletico will not let forlan go too,,,, there are not that in need of the dosh, its valencia who are in bad shape, they are hanging on to mata, silva and villa by a thread, they really are trying hard to keep hold of them 3 players, which would bring in close to 83 million pounds.
liverpool need mxi to hit the ground running, then we need babel out for aorund 9 million, then dossena, also voronin, go and get v,der vaart too. then belhadj from pompey for a knock down fee

samuel charles you are talking shit, belhadj is clean shite. your true with getting rid of babel, voronin and dossena. with the money from them three players we need van nistlerooy on a loan move for the season, we need mata to replace babel and we also need maxi because kuyt is shit.

lewis i agree with you, buy mata, with babel money, or there abouts, maxi on the right, kuyt sub bench, dossena and degen are gone for a total of £ 5.5 million then you have voronin gone for a net profit of 1,5 mill(when rafa got him on a free) good business that by rafa,

i make this nearly  17.9 million, buy mata and maxi.

                                                                torres    gerrard
                                      mata          mascherano  aquilani maxi

                                          insua        agger        carragher   johnson
                                                                        reina.

    now thats good

    team for spurs;

                                                                          REINA
    CARRAGHER                   SKRTEL                    AGGER              AURELIO

    BENAYOUN                GERRARD               LUCUS                      INSUA

                                                             TORRES     BABEL.
id put insua ahead of aurelio for the left hand side, to help out aurelio, who is think is a better defensive left sided player than insua, but i think of  late that insua and for the future has shown he really likes to bomb down the flank. id like to see carra at right back, with the skrtel and agger at the back for height reasons.
babel would play to say to him its now or never, rafa should play mind games and say i havent sold you because i rate you now go out and play, if he does nothing buy half time, take him off and put aquilani in and push gerrard up top.

kuyt, reira, cavalerli gk, darby, pacehco*, ngog, aquilani.
    * = must be on the bench, bring him if need to do somthing very different, this kid is going to be worth millions with a bit of luck that any player needs.

    lfc 3 – spurs 1.
    torres hatrick…

Forget it. We all know pool’s attacks lack dimension, but shouldn’t we  focus on the back four as well? Carragher’s years were long over tho I truly appreciate his effort.
