Liverpool defender linked with Italy switch

Andrea Dossena’s agent has revealed Italian club Napoli have shown interest in the Liverpool defender.

Dossena’s agent Roberto La Florio believes the left-back, who has only made one appearance for the Reds this season, may have to move back to his home country to secure his place in Italy’s world cup squad.

“It is clear that in January Napoli will sign new players, especially in the role of Dossena,” said La Florio.

“We’ll see in January if there are opportunities to return to Italy and play – we are interested because Dossena wants to go to the World Cup.

“Napoli is the Italian team that has pushed most for Dossena and according to me it would be the perfect solution for him.”

If the 28-year-old does move to Napoli, he would be most remembered for his goal against Real Madrid and Manchester United (below) last season.
