Dirk Kuyt believes new-signing Glen Johnson can help Liverpool win some silverware for the first time since 2006.
The England international, who joined Liverpool from Portsmouth, made his debut on Wednesday against St Gallen and looked comfortable in possession.
Kuyt said: “Last season we played very well. Unfortunately, we didn’t win any trophies.
“If we can keep the team together then the fact we have added Glen Johnson means hopefully we can go one step higher.
“Glen has shown already that he is a very good player in the Premier League and the England team.”
