Rafa Benitez revealed Liverpool defender Glen Johnson will be out of action for at least a month.
The right-back sufferred a tear in the medial ligament of his right knee during the Reds’ 1-0 victory at Aston Villa.
Johnson will see another specialist before a concrete recovery period is annonced.
But Benitez said: “Johnson has a problem, so he’ll see a specialist and then we’ll talk but we know he’ll be out for at least one month. But we are waiting for another opinion and then we’ll know how long.”
Martin Kelly and Nabil El Zhar are out for another fortnight however, Albert Riera may be available for the Reds’ home clash with Tottenham in a week’s time.
“Kelly and Nabil still need maybe one or two weeks,” said Benitez. “Riera will start training tomorrow, so hopefully in the next week he can be available.”
