Liverpool officials are in Spain to try and negotiate a deal for Valencia winger Joaquín, according to reports in Spain.
The Reds will not make interest in Joaquín known to other clubs as they don’t want to be involved in a potential bidding war.
Earlier last month, Rafael Benitez revealed David Silva would not be a target anymore after a Valencia representative made the interest public.
If such a situation occurs again, Benitez will drop all interest in the player.
However, Joaquín is keen on a move to Liverpool and a fee of £22million will secure the Spaniard’s services.
Several other clubs have made informal inquires for the winger, including Premier League rivals Chelsea.

22 MP?!?!?!?!?! That is an insane pricetag for Joaquin, he is far too inconsistent to be valued so highly. Better to look towards Kuba, Turan or Zarate who are younger and will probably cost much less while matching his talent.

Wouldnt mind seeing him at Liverpool but for a fee not more than 15 mil not 22 there are much younger and better players we can get for that much.
Split that 22mp for David Bentley (12mp) and Gereth Barry (10mp).
Moreover, we get 2 strong and skilled english players with eagerness for the TITLE (not CL) and we don’t have to wait for foreign player to adapt himself to PL like Bable case.

rafa have had interest in him 3 yrs ago i think. but unable to get him or some reasons. i hope we will get him. he’s an experienced player. of course the price shouldnt be 22mil tho.. thats too much. with 22 mil we should collect more and get silva.

joaquin are very slow palyer… not fast… i hope liverpool can buy player like robinho & c.ronaldo (stamina,strength,dribble,set piece are good)…
