Finnan left in a limbo
August 19, 2008
Steve Finnan has been angered after admitting that he has no clue where his future lies and might leave the Reds.
He said: “I think limbo sounds about right, I haven’t got a clue where I stand, I’ve not played many games recently.”
“We’ve spoken about it (with Rafa) but I don’t want to say too much more, I suppose you guys (the media) know more than me.
“I’ve been fit but I just haven’t played in the last half dozen games.” “I’ll wait and see if I can try and get into the team but, if not, obviously I want to play.” he added.
The 32-year-old isn’t in Rafa Benitez’s plans and has said that he would move to another club if his situation does not improve.
Giovanni Trapattoni called back Steve Finnan into the Ireland national squad.
“Any player who is playing international football – and if you’re not playing for your club – then it’s a help if you do well, but we’ll wait and see on that.”
