Espanyol: “72 hours for Riera to complete switch”

Espanyol’s sporting director Paco Herrera has told Liverpool that they have 72 hours to seal the terms with Espanyol if they are to complete the signing of Albert Riera.

The club confirmed that talks with Liverpool were going well, but said that a few terms are yet to be finalized.

“This is a sensitive time, and we need to make sure we reach a solution one way or another,” Herrera said.

“Everything is going well and a deal can be reached. The differences we have are ones we can solve and in the next two or three days there has to be a solution because there is no more time.”

Everton had earlier bid £12 million for Riera, but the winger told the club he wont move to Everton, no matter what.

Reports from Liverpool Echo had earlier suggested that Liverpool had agreed an £8m fee for the Spaniard.
