Rafa Benitez is set to bid for Fluminense’s highly-rated Brazilian centre-back Anderson.
Several sources in Brazil claim that Benitez had sent scouts to watch the 21-year old in Fluminense’s match against Cruzeiro.
Anderson can play anywhere across the back-four and helped his club to Brazilian Cup victory in 2007.
With doubts over Daniel Agger’s contract and the long-term futures of Sami Hyypia and Jamie Carragher, Benitez is acting quickly to ensure his side have enough cover for the future.
Anderson’s contract ends in the summer and Liverpool may be able to sign the defender for a cut-price deal.
The Brazilian is 21-years old and made his first-team debut for Fluminense against Internacional on June 3, 2006.

i think rafa is doing a great job as liverpool manager… i am not sure whether the efficiency of rafa will pay back with the american owners plus the construction off the new stadium is hang overed
He won’t be cheap as Fergie is said to be interested in him too! The old Scot really know how to play games!
