play with you some dammmm exuses you saying that aqulani is not we can’t risk him but you can risk torres and gerrard come rafa lucas won’t win anything he dispionted us the amn city game imagine if he would scored that he would turn to punk to hero
I understand rafa’s concern, but gat 2 move forward. Being out of champions league i dont see why we should rush torres, we can beat everton without him, but aquilani, boy has been fit since last month! Play him he wil score and create, ngog is looking sharp!
That seems reasonable to me . I mean his intention is to protect the player for the next 4 to 5 years so obviously that means he is not selected until – say – 2013 and then only late in the season !!!!! His first game will , I expect , be against Tranmere Reserves in July/August 2013 in which he will get injured I suppose ……..
Guy you are an idiot he has been on the bench for the last 3 matches and would have been more but for the fact he had a cold. If Aquilani is on the bench he is fit to play – Rafa implies he is not match fit – but he will never get that from being on the bench.
Rafa goes on to say that due to this match fitness he can’t play him in a tight game where we might be trying to defend a 1-0 lead. However as has been proven all season (particulary Man City & Lyon) we are struggling to defend a 1-0 lead. I believe having watched alot of liverpool games this season this is because the team gets nervous and starts to defend deeper. We did this last season as well but the difference was that when this happened last season we played counter attack football and thanks to Alonso in particular we broke quickly. When we got the ball we didn’t waste it with even more negative passing about the back line. With Lucas and Masha in midfield we enable our opponents to regroup taking 2-3-4 touches before off loading the ball. Aquilani would help keep the ball and would move it on quicker, helping us play quick counter attack football when trying to defend.
Rafa has to remember that our attacking strength is often our best defensive weapon! Rafa get Aquilani involved! Admittedly maybe not the start against Everton (no need to get his ankle broken again!) but he must get at least35mins even there.
how effin long is rafa gonna be baby sitting this kid playing him the whole game ffs
wake up beniteze! time is moving and not going back?
