Benitez hails Reds legend Hyypia

Reds manager Rafael Benitez has hailed Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia after the Finnish international is set to leave the club.

Hyypia played his last game for the Reds in the 3-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and will play for Bayer Leverkusen next season.

“He has been a fantastic professional,” Benitez said.

“The last five years he has been really, really good but before was the same – so 10 years you are talking about a legend.

“You are talking about someone who is so good as a person and as a professional for us if he comes back quickly (in a coaching capacity) we will be really satisfied.”

   Hail Sami! Your final 10mins on Anfield is nothing compares to your 10 years service! And the blood and sweat you shed from your 10years playing for Liverpool FC is definitely uncomparable to the tears you shed during the farewell for you after the game! To see a hardman like u Sami, crying infront of us fans….shown us what a great club this is and what a majestic legend you’ve become…CHEERS MATE!!!
