Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani has flown to Belgrade to receive treatment from ‘horse placenta doctor’ Marijana Kovacevic.
The former Roma midfielder was set to make his full debut against Wigan last weekend but pulled out following a niggle in his calf and didn’t feature against Portsmouth after missing training for a week.
Aquilani is currently in Belgrade with Nabil El Zhar and had treatment today at Kovacevic’s clinic.
The 25-year-old has only made three substitute appearances for the Reds and one start following his move in August for £17million.
However, Aquilani is set to start against Wolverhampton Rovers at the weekend with Javier Mascherano currently out injured and suspended.
Benitez hopes Kovacevic’s horse placenta works on the midfielder as it did with Glen Johnson, Fabio Aurelio, Yossi Benayoun and Albert Riera, who all returned ahead of time following their injuries.

I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE HIM PLAYING SINCE THE START AGAINST WOLVES. WE’LL NEED TO OVERLOAD THEM AND I’M SURE AQUILANI CAN BE A THREAT. YNWA
if we dont win more than 3-0 against wolves i think rafa is out …
THE WORST £20M SPENT!
rafa could of use that money got a £10m striker and £10 right winger to help the attack, but NNNNNOOOOO rafa does what he does best and wastes money!
if ur gonna pay that much money on a player then PLAY HIM!
……
hope he plays game agians wolves and scores the goal the season 40 yards out with golkeeper with no chance goooooooooo gooooooo alberto
the doctor, buying players for £10M is the worst thing we could do. That’s how you get signings like Riera, Babel, Bellamy, decent players, not class.
When you buy a player for £20M, you know you get quality. And if you have seen this kid before, you know he has it.
