Aquilani keen to play with Reds duo

Alberto Aquilani is looking forward to playing with Liverpool duo Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres, he said before his move to Anfield.

Aquilani is set to finalize personal terms and complete a medical by Saturday morning.

The 25-year-old admitted it was tough to leave boyhood-club Roma but the pain was eased knowing he was set to line-up alongside Gerrard and Torres.

“Obviously I feel very sorry to leave my city and Roma,” said Aquilani. “I regret that I am moving on.

“But should the deal be completed with Liverpool, it would be fantastic to play with players like Gerrard, Torres and the others.

“Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world.”
