Juventus have upped their bid for Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso to €18million, and according to Corriere dello Sport today, it HAS been accepted.
Liverpool were determined to hold out for €19million euros, but had now option as they are now in desperate need of transfer funds, if only to facilitate the removal of Gareth Barry from Aston Villa.
Reports came in yesterday that Juventus were losing patience with Rafa and Liverpool so had decided to look further afield for a replacement, notably Bayern Munich’s Bastian Schweinsteiger which seems to have forced Liverpools hand.
All Liverpool fans would miss the ‘pass-master’ as he has been called many times.
