Academy offer trial to Dane

Liverpool academy have offered 14-year-old Danish defender Marcus Sondergaard a trial at the Merseyside club.

The decision was taken after a Liverpool scout in Denmark recommended him to the club.

“It is a great dream that is coming true.” Sondergaard told Ekstra Bladet.

“I never thought a huge club like Liverpool would be tracking me.” he added.

However, any move for the young Danish hot shot would have to wait until the player is 16 years old.

    im 18 years old, im completing my matric here in south africa! and i wish to join the academy and study in england at the same time, but i can only study if im in the academy! im african. position: utility back line player and attacking midfield i can kick with both legs! mainly right. im 1,81cm and 72kg. i know i can do it if im given the chance. let me prove what i can do, give me a chance…you wont regret it! i bet my life on that
